As everyone around the world knows, Texas is legendary in its role in American history. The Alamo, the NASA Center at Houston, and, of course, its many presidents. Texas is a rugged, wild land, where cowboys and oilmen vie for power and “downhome” values are cherished. Also, as we mentioned last week, Texas is the home of “The Texas Girl,” that blonde, lovely, lively creation of Hollywood that has become an icon for feminine beauty.
What you might not know about Texas, however, is that it has a soft, innocent, playful side. It is the land of the desert rose, of the soft spoken Texas belle, and of country manners with a light, special lilt. And all of those charms are on display in this new series by Michael White, featuring the lovely and precocious young Maille, a resident of Austin.
Maille is a “dirty blonde” of 19 years who agreed to work with Michael White after seeing his portfolio. Never having posed nude before, she was a bit nervous. In fact, the closest she’d ever come to being naked in anyone else’s presence other than her mama’s was in gym class with the other girls. But just having entered college, and looking for some adventure, she consented to showing her quite precious secrets to all of us, and we are definitely grateful for her kind and giving gesture.
What you’ll see of Maille in these 80 photos is an intimate portrayal of a very real, very natural young woman in the flower of her youth. She poses in a brightly lit white room, which is actually the corner room of her parents’ house (they weren’t home that afternoon). Either totally naked or in a red bikini strap panty, Maille is there in all her splendor for us to witness. At her side, on occasion, are some pretty pink flowers, or a white sheet, or you can see her bent over, reading a book called “The Girl in the Swing.” It makes you wonder what she’s thinking of, doesn’t it?
The most precious part of this photo series is just how close you get to Maille. She strikes a number of provocative poses – staring straight at the camera, her bounteous chest sticking out proudly; turning around with her derriere all plump and high; on all fours, squatting in a luxurious and suggestive position; or kneeling with her thighs open, her arms cupping her breasts together, biting her lip and staring eagerly at the lens. Suffice to say, you really get to know her in these photos. And getting to know Maille is a wonderful treat indeed.
