Jan Kruml: Anna in St Petersburg. Journal
As promised yesterday’s post here is the first instalment of the Jan Kruml St Petersburg shoot diary.
Anna R and I met at a nearby underground station close to the place where I often stay in St. Petersburg. We walked the crowded streets together for awhile getting to know one another a bit but I felt that Anna was a bit nervous. I asked the dark-haired girl if she would like to go somewhere for a drink before we started to work. I have found in my experience that one drink often seems to melt down the tensions before beginning a photo shoot.
The sleeveless silky pale green dress that Anna was wearing caught the attention of those passing by us during our walk together. The dress was quite short and revealed Anna’s long shapely legs. Her striking eyes and lovely smile also perhaps attributed to the notice this young woman seemed to generate with her presence.
When we entered the restaurant, I immediately noticed a wall adorned with an amazingly artistic fresco painting. The colors were soft and subdued but the details of the painting were astonishing. I found myself fantasizing about the possibility of my lovely escort/model, Anna, performing a public strip tease. Our entrance to the restaurant caused all heads to turn in our direction, however. I instinctively felt that it wasn’t the right time to ask Anna for the favor of such a performance.
We chose seating near a window. Anna surprised me when she ordered a beer instead of a Cappuccino. We ordered something to eat along with our drinks and had a nice talk while waiting for our food to arrive. Anna told me the places she liked to go out at on the weekends. We discussed the beauty of the city – the rich architecture and beautiful architecture. Our food arrived and I truly felt as if Anna was becoming more comfortable with my company.
On our way out of the restaurant, I asked the model if she would strip in front of the fresco painting. She asked me with a wide-eyed expression if I was serious. She told me that such a notion was “mad.” I told her that I realized that it was mad but that is was also kinky and exciting. Anna surveyed the restaurant and waited until she thought the wait staff and patrons were not paying much attention. She posed for me while I quickly captured three shots. We laughed together as we exited the establishment. Anna confided in excited giggles that she had never done such a thing before.
The three quick shots I took of Anna at the restaurant in front of the fresco painting reveal the different facets of this model’s personality. The first shot pictures Anna with a somewhat serious expression upon her face. She stands with one of her hands resting on her hip and the other is outstretched so that her phenomenal figure is evident even beneath her short dress. In the next frame, Anna offers a view of her toned backside while she looks over her shoulder in the direction of my camera. The final frame captures a playful and excited Anna.
