It is the season when the light begins to mellow. When fires are lit up, windows closed, bed covers taken out of storage. We drink cocoa or hot cider, we pick up that book we’ve been meaning to read, and we snuggle a little closer with that ‘special someone.’ And it is the season when pretty young women begin to walk the streets in thick wool sweaters, well-fitting overcoats, and big fluffy boots. It is autumn, and Pasha has captured its sensual essence in this glorious photo shoot.
For most of us, autumn is a romantic time. The summer is over. It was fun. Maybe we went somewhere alluring and exotic, or maybe we stayed at home and had good times with friends. Either way, most of us vacation during the summer, and perhaps let our wild side fly a little high.
When autumn comes, it is back to work. But that doesn’t mean the good times have to end. They just change in tone and temper. What we do know is that winter is coming. It’s colder, and darker. And this brings changes in us. We adapt to the seasons. We adjust to the movements of the earth.
So what makes autumn so romantic? Well, the arrival of cold is certainly a good reason to get closer to your lover. It feels better under the covers. Maybe we spend Saturday just lounging around the house, touching each other in secret ways, and making love more times than we have in a while. Maybe we go in a walk in the park, and the girls are out, wanting warmth, looking for someone to share a hot drink with. Basically, with the coming sense of winter, our bodies begin looking for physical companionship with a deeper longing than in the warm months. We crave another’s touch to keep our temperature up.
And how does Pasha pay homage to all this in his photo shoot, September? He does it in all the ways a photographer can. He does it with light – rich, mellow, sensuous light that reminds us of the setting sun on a short day. He does it with setting – a moody, somber, tactile environment that seems like a cabin in the snow. And he does it with his model – slipping from her macramé bikini, she is the image of “inner warmth,” revealing herself despite the season, relishing her body in its attractiveness.
