This is where the Art of Met Art is found. Renowned photographer Tony Ward has treated us to an exhibition of some of his most provocative work.
This collection is incredible in its depth and breadth both. Photographer Tony Ward displays here some of the finest works of his career. His style is both wide-ranging and recognizable: we’re sure you’ll appreciate the candor he brings to this genre of art, as well as the incredible skill he has at setting up a story in scenes. From the brilliant, uncompromised opening shots of two girls – lips on skin, skin on lips – to the later provocative scenes involving hotel room rugs and garter belts, you’ll thrill at what he’s exhibiting here.
It’s impossible to describe the variety in this gallery. There are black and white images of pale-skinned nymphs tossing their long, coltish legs over black leather couches. There are slim-hipped girls in too-tight jeans and slouching socks, baring their high breasts for the camera. There are intensely glamorous images of elegant women with tousled up-dos, kissing and touching and teasing. (These scenes look like some behind-closed-doors footage from some erotically charged Vogue shoot.) There are images shot in shower stalls and bedrooms and beneath canopied beds. The range Tony Ward shows is staggering.
His models, too, are by no means cookie-cutter variations on a theme. Each one shows remarkable uniqueness. We find one in the shower, a nubile and ripe beauty with full breasts and a lusciously curvy body. We find two fashion models, kissing and mouthing each other with insatiable desire, their bone-perfect faces at odds with the unhinged passion they display. We find one lingerie-clad blonde, her body every man’s dream, her figure highlighted perfectly by the garter belts and heels with which she’s straddling a chair. There’s a voluptuous model with a stunning body and a backdrop of brilliant color. Then, too, there are almost portrait-like shots: images of various women in different stages of undress, each meeting the eye of the camera with an exhibitionist’s gaze. The artistry Ward displays is incredible.
Have a look inside. This gallery alone encapsulates more than many of our competitors can even dream of. Ward’s range, as well as his ability to nail so accurately the precise attitude and edge of a model, is exemplary. There’s no need to take our word for it, though: the few images here barely scratch the surface. Go on. Go deeper. You won’t regret it.
