Personality matters. A beautiful woman with an off-putting or unappealing personality is less beautiful than she might be. And a warm, inviting personality makes a woman or, indeed, any person in any type of situation or social relationship more attractive, whether she’s plain or pretty. So, to repeat, personality matters. But personality isn’t something that can be easily acquired. Some of it is innate, some of it is developed over time, and it’s fluid, changing with mood, circumstance, and situation.
Capturing a model’s personality is one of greatest challenges facing a photographer. Even the most technically skilled artist can still fail to extract and present a model’s true character and charm. And, after all, erotic photography is a collaborative art form. Model and artist must work together. And if a model is unwilling or unable to freely express her personality for the lens, the photographer has a severely limited ability to capture it. Timing also plays a significant role. A moment’s hesitation on the part of model, photographer, or both, can result in a photo devoid of personality, creating an inaccurate representation of the model’s true essence.
After all that, let me say that Susie, the star of Previa has a delightful personality. It lights up her eyes and animates her face. It gives her a youthful energy and vitality that, to my eyes, makes her appear younger than her 24 years. She clearly enjoys posing and she offers up every luscious inch of her nubile body for our inspection and enjoyment.
And Leonardo, an accomplished master, does a fine job of capturing not just Susie’s bright, lively nature, but also more subtle and nuanced elements of her personality. He successfully brings out the irresistible emotional best in Susie, while also capturing her physical charms in welcome and often impressively explicit detail.
