Richard Murrian In Normandy Day 3
Back in Paris, I do a shoot with Monika C early in the day while Nancy takes Eliska A shopping. We finish around 3pm, then Nancy and Eliska come back and they take over the room to do a photo-shoot.
Meanwhile, I take Monika out around Paris, playing tour-guide. A few hours later, we all meet for a dinner of paella and sangria, and we say good bye to the girls. They are flying back to Prague the following morning.
When I arrived home I spent some time looking over the photos. I must say I was quite pleased with the way they turned out — the girls have such a natural energy about them and their playfulness really came out on the beaches. I hope you have a chance to look at the sexier images in the series, and especially the film that we took. Enjoy!
PS: I’m American and my Grandfather landed on the beaches of Normandy during WWII. So I had some mixed feelings about conducting a nude photo-shoot on those beaches. I wondered, "Is this appropriate? Is this being disrespectful?" But then a thought occurred to me: "What exactly was my Grandfather, and all his compatriots, fighting for? Oh, yes . . . Freedom."
Once I had that thought in my head, I felt OK. In fact, in a touch of irony a police beach patrol came by while we were shooting. If we were in the US, we’d almost certainly have had some problems (indecent exposure, blah, blah, blah). But this is France! The cops looked at us and smiled and answered the "Bonjour" I tossed out to them, then drove away. Again my Grandfather fighting to free this country came to mind and I thought, "Thanks Grampa!"
